Ben Van Dyke BSA President Interim

 

Emily DiUbaldo: VP Administration
Emily is VP Administration for the 2009-2010 VIUBSA Exec Team.   After joining the BSA in her first year, she was inspired to take on a more involved role for her second time around.  She has just completed her first year of a four year Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management and plans to complete her education with an MBA.  In April-May 2009, Emily participated in VIU's field school program in China and thoroughly enjoyed the cultural and educational experience.  She is excited to travel and participate in more field schools in the future. Trying to juggle schoolwork, the BSA, and the VILC is tough—but rewarding! In her spare time, Emily enjoys hanging out with friends, walking, swimming, karaoke, dancing, reading, and watching movies. 

 

Danielle Daem : VP Finance
Danielle Is the VP Finance for BSA. She is in her 3rd year of the Bachelors of Business Administration program at VIU, majoring in Finance. She is also involved in the Vancouver Island University Leadership Conference as the VP Finance. Danielle currently holds a diploma in Business Administration and will graduate with her Bachelors in Financial Services in the year 2011. After graduation she plans on pursuing a career as a Financial Adviser/Planner. Danielle enjoys being involved within her school through the BSA and the VILC because it allows her to meet new people and develop her networking skills. Outside of school, Danielle is a member of a Nanaimo ladies soccer team. She has been involved within the soccer community for over 10 years. Danielle also loves to camp, hike, play games, and take part in any other activity that is active and outdoors

Rose Perrin: VP Marketing
Rose is the VP Marketing for the VIUBSA 2009- 2010 year. She is in her third year of the BBA program majoring in Marketing with the goal of becoming a real estate agent. She will graduate in the spring of 2011. She is also a member of the Vancouver Island University Leadership Conference Executive committee where she currently holds the position of VP Marketing. She got involved with the BSA and VILC to get expand her knowledge with marketing and get real life experience in the field. Rose is a lieutenant in the Canadian Forces working as a part of the Cadet Instructor’s Cadre where she instructs the band of the Nanaimo Air Cadets. Rose has been involved with the cadet program for 10 years. In her free time she enjoys playing sports such as baseball, and tennis, as well as other outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and rollerblading.  

 

Jason McKinnon: VP Marketing
Jason is a fourth year student in the BBA program and is working towards dual concentrations in Marketing and Management. After transferring from the University of Northern British Columbia in 2008 Jason joined the BSA to enrich his university career and to network with other business students. Now in his second year with the BSA, Jason encourages all business students to get involved as it has been a great place to meet new people and have some fun. Jason is also a member of the inaugural VIU Case Competition Team and will be using the opportunity to showcase the skills learned from both the BBA and BSA as well as help to set up the opportunity for future students. Keeping with the team spirit, Jason also plays for the Men’s Varsity Basketball Team and when he isn’t involved in those commitments, enjoys working out, camping, anything active, or just relaxing with some friends. If you see him around campus feel free to ask him anything and if he doesn’t know the answer he will find someone that can!

Jeff Matkin: International Student Liaison

Jeff is in his fourth year of a dual designation BBA majoring in marketing and management. Once done his degree Jeff plans on attending law school. He started university at North Island College located in his hometown of Courtenay and later went on to study at Utah Valley University (UVU) in the US and the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) in Poland. During and following his studies in Poland Jeff was fortunate enough to travel around Europe and really enjoyed the experience. Learning about different cultures and interacting with the people who belong to them has always been one of Jeff’s interests. This interest grew with his experiences in Europe. Jeff hopes to increase both his and the BSA’s interaction with international students. Outside of the classroom Jeff enjoys longboarding, snowboarding, mixed martial arts, soccer and venturing out into the BC wilderness with his dog.

 

Jenelle Hiney: 1st Year Representative

Jenelle is the first year representative for the BSA. After seeing a presentation put on by the BSA members at jump start at the beginning of September she decided to become as involved as she could to get the most out of her four years at university. She is in her first year of the Bachelor of Business Administration program at VIU, wanting to majoring in accounting. After graduating in 2013 she plans on pursuing a career at an accounting firm and becoming a chartered accountant. Jenelle enjoys being involved in the BSA because she gets to meet new people and apply the skills she learns in class to real life. In her spare time Jenelle enjoys snowboarding, camping, hiking, rock climbing, watching movies, road trips and spending time with friends.

Greg Bombardir: 4th Year Representative

Greg is the 4th year representative for the VIUBSA. He is in his 4th year and will be graduating in April 2010 with his Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in accounting. After graduation Greg plans to get a job at an accounting firm and work through the CAS-B program towards his Chartered Accountant designation. Greg enjoys being involved with the BSA because it is a great way to meet new people and make connections with the business community. Greg’s hobbies include playing basketball, cooking, and golfing.
