Professional Development

Professional Development is an aspect of the BSA which allows members and other Vancouver Island University students to learn how to present themselves to peers and potential employers. It provides opportunities for students and members to learn about what to include on a resume, or what a business card should look like, and other important assets. This aspect of the BSA prepares members for success, and creates a positive perception of a VIU student, to potential employers.

It offers workshops such as:

• Resume building

• Speaker presentations

• Career preparation

• How to dress for success

As well as workshops, it aids members and students in setting up courses for certification in all areas.  Examples are:

• Serving It Right

• Foodsafe

• Superhost

• First Aid
